Tomy Drift Package Light is a R/C TOY that can drift.
Normal version costs SGD59, while those with built in light on the body costs $109.
I modified my cheapo Tomy Drift Package Light and added blue LED lights, using some LED lights ($0.50), a paper clip and some black tapes.
Today is my self-appointed slack day, a day where I am supposed to be slacking around and doing nothing.
This is a break time for me after all those f***ing projects and before I start preparing for the final exams.
Lets see what I did today.
8.00: Went market bought breakfast for family. Also bought soya bean milk.
8.30: Home, put soya bean milk in frig, ate breakfast while watching the anime, Skip Beat
9.00: Start watching GI. Joe, Rise of Cobra with surround sound in my room while lying on bed
11.00: Watch finish, surf net. Felt very sian, renew determination to slack.
11.05: Start watching Skip Beat.
12.00: Mum bought lunch, ate lunch while watching Skip Beat.
12.45: Very bored of anime. Donno what to do. Still thinking must slack.
12.50: Ok, start working on upgrading BookInBookOut.com backend.
13.30: Added captcha system to BookInBookOut.com, very motivated to do more coding.
14.15: Added “Bargain Basket” and display cheapest book in the footer. Realise lots of invalid entries in the database. Start cleaning up database.
14.20: Start adding additional data verification code before textbooks are added to the database.
14.40: Rewrite “How this works” page into “Why BookInBookOut.com” and “about” page into “how to”.
15.00: Noticed a very big flaw in navigation which I never notice before. When user is viewing book details and hit “back” in the browser, it BookInBookOut.com doesn’t show the search result but shows a blank search field instead. Very inconvenient for user. Started exploring ways to improve this.
15.45: Done, modified a great deal of code to change behavior of BookInBookOut.com. Added a link to the textbook information page so that users can return to search results.
15.55: Found a bug with this new change. There are some instances when users land on the textbook information page without first going through the search result (i.e. through the bargain basket page). Debug the code.
16.00: Noticed that bargain basket isn’t sorting the items properly. “15″ is smaller than “8″. Googled ways to fix this and implemented the fix.
16.15: Fix done. Realise the cheapest book on BookInBookOut.com is $5!
16.20: Surf around BookInBookOut.com looking for problems. No problem found. Start watching Skip Beat again while watching for buddy Chuen Full to be free.
16.50: Very hungry, ate a slice of chocolate cake.
17.50: Chuen Full reach Fajar LRT. Rush out with my remote control car to find him.
18.15: LOTS of fun zooming around Fajar Court at top speed on my new second hand overgeared Tamiya Ta05r. Chuen Full snapped many many photos.
18.20: Tried putting on drift tires, but drift rim has design at somehow obstructed movement. Switched back to touring tires and tried 5000mah battery. The speed made Ta05r, a race/competition spec car unstable. Speed is really godly. I can’t control it. Must be doing 80~100kmph. Travel 3 badminton court size in 3 seconds.
18.35: Went home to take KFC voucher. Left car at home. Stroll to Greenridge Shopping Centre with Chuen Full
18.50: Reached KFC, slowly eat.
19.30: Eat finish, show Chuen Full my modification to Tomy Drift Package Light, adding blue LED lights to the body using paper clips and black tapes.
19.45: Test out the car outside KFC
19.55: Walk back home
20.15: Home. Put r/c battery on charger
20.20: Started blogging this.
20.30: Realise i still haven’t drink the soya bean milk i bought this morning.
What a fun and chillax day, doing what I love to do. I had fun doing programming today as well. I wonder who would hate such stuff. R/C was fun too.. the crazy speed of my Ta05R relieved quite abit of stress. Feels damn shiok. Everyone should play R/C. Will upload the photos later.
