I was doing some random thinking yesterday when I realised something weird..
If I didn’t by luck rank 20th in the whole school in primary school (Primary 2) without tuition, my parents wouldn’t have motivated me to work harder.
If my parents didn’t work harder, I would have ranked 7th in school the following year and gotten into EM1.
If I had not gotten into EM1, I would not have done well for PSLE.
If I didn’t do well for PSLE, I wouldn’t have gone to The Chinese High School.
If I didn’t go to The Chinese High School, I wouldn’t have started my interest in computers and programming.
If I didn’t got interested in programming, I wouldn’t have done badly for O Level.
If I didn’t do badly for O Level, I wouldn’t have gone to AJC.
If I didn’t go to AJC, I wouldn’t have met my sweetheart. I wouldn’t have the idle brain power to come up with The Wicked, because AJC is just too boring and dumb and shallow.
If I didn’t come up with The Wicked, I wouldn’t have met Jun Kwang.
If I didn’t meet Jun Kwang, I wouldn’t have been convinced to come to SMU.
If I didn’t come to SMU, I wouldn’t have created BookINBookOUT.com
Somehow, this chain of event are all linked, like a perfect novelist’s story.
Much as we delude ourselves about the existence of freewill, perhaps everything destined after all.
